Napa and Klamath are very different places, but both have rich histories in common. Napa was originally settled by Native Americans and is named for a nearby Nappan village. Like many California town's Napa expanded during the gold rush and subsequent silver boom. However, many years after this Napa came into it's own as a world famous producer of wine.
Klamath is at the mouth of the Klamath River and is located within the Yurok Indian Reservation. Klamath is home to the Trees of Mystery and the American folklore legends, Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Well, at least home to the famous statues of Paul and Babe.
The crew decided on our way to Klamath we should make a quick stop in the beautiful wine country of Napa to see if we could find an intriguing winery we stumbled across. When we saw the name Trueblood Winery we figured we'd better check it out to see if there were any vampires to be found or at least an intriguing story about the winery.
After Napa we plan to drive up to Klamath where we will explore the beautiful area which is filled with redwoods and folklore. While there we'll stop by to say hi to Paul Bunyan and see some remarkable redwood trees at the Trees of Mystery.
Keep a look-out for the latest update on this part of our tip.
The crew found something interesting in Napa that will take us on a trip to Paso Robles when we head south. We also had a great time meandering through Klamath and doing a little exploring. Check out the photos and blog from our trip.
