Santa's Workshop / North Pole

When it comes to childhood beliefs, what icon is more popular than Santa himself. It is also one of the symbols that people stop believing in as they grow up. Yet, the positive spirit hat is associated with the Christmas season is something all ages can believe in. So why not believe in Santa? We found the place you still can.

Santa's Workshop North Pole
Santa's Workshop/North Pole is a Christmas themed family amusement park that has been in existence since 1956. Christmas music fills the air as visitors browse through the village. At the center of Santa's Workshop is the North Pole, an ice-covered pole that never melts. Surrounding the North Pole are a variety of gift shops, each with their own unique selection of toys & gifts. Of course, the highlight of everyone's visit is a trip to Santa's House to greet the jolly old elf himself.

It was announced on March 10, 1955 that a 25 acre Santa's Workshop was planned to be built on the slopes of Pikes Peak. The village was to be identical to the one built in Lake Placid, NY. The village in NY was designed by Arturo Monaco, a former Walt Disney artist. In the 1940's an eight-year old girl told the artist what she believed Santa Claus' home and village looked like. Mr. Monaco then translated her image of the magical land into blueprints for an actual village.
